Notifying your store of new online orders

When you install the Online Order web app an additional app on your Clover device will also be installed. This Online Order Alert app is helpful in keeping your staff aware of new online orders. It is used to enable a Full Screen Notification for new online orders and print your order or payments receipts.  Recommended ways of setting up the app so that your staff can fill online orders are the following:


  1. Automatic Order/Payment Receipt Printing: Prints the order receipt and/or payment receipt automatically.  Recommended if your staff normally uses printed receipts to fulfill orders.
  2. Automatic Order Receipt Printing via Fire Option:  Prints via the "fire" printing options that sends items to different kitchen printers.  Recommended if you have different kitchen stations (hot vs cold table) and send items to different kitchen printers.   
  3. Kitchen Display:  Send the online order directly to the Kitchen Display app for your staff to fill.  Recommended if you use the Kitchen Display app and want to keep your customers up-to-date on order status.  
  4. Full Screen Notification:  Your Clover device displays a notification for each new online order and must be acknowledged.  Recommended if staff is often watching the device and wants to be immediately aware of new orders.


Enable Full Screen Notification

  1. From your Clover device, find & open the Online Order Alert app.

  2. Set the  ¨Enable Order Alerts¨ setting to ¨On¨.

  3. Set the ¨Full Screen Notification¨ setting to ¨On¨.


Enable Automatic Order/Payment Receipt Printing

  1. From your Clover device, find & open the Online Order Alert app.

  2. Set the  ¨Enable Order Alerts¨ setting to ¨On¨.


  3. Set the ¨Print Order Receipt Automatically¨ setting to ¨On¨.


  4. In the ¨using printer¨ setting, select the printer you wish to print the receipts.  You may have named your printer something else other than "Mini" than the example printer below.   If there are no printers available, then you will need to set them up (learn more).

  5. Once you are done, the settings will look like the following screen.  The red boxes indicate the required settings for this to operate.

  6. Make sure to run a test order to verify that the printing is occurring as expected.

  7. You can set-up the Order Alert app to also print the Payment Receipt automatically to print an additional receipt that is useful for providing to your customer.  To do this, repeat the process above but selec the "Print Payment Receipt Automatically" option instead. The customer name & address can be included on the receipt as illustrated below if it is set-up as such in the Setup app.



Automatic Order Receipt Printing via Fire Option


There are 2 ways to enable the "Fire" setting.  


From the Clover Web Dashboard

  1. Log in to your Clover Web Dashboard, open your Online Order app.

  2. In your Online Order app dashboard, click on  "Settings¨

  3. Set the ¨Fire Order¨ setting to ¨On¨, it will be the color green in the on position.



From your Clover Device

  1. From your Clover device, find & open the Online Order Alert app.


  2. Set the ¨Print using Fire automatically¨ setting to ¨On¨, it will be the color blue in the on position.
